Generation Z Battles Anxiety and Depression Some 70% of teens across all genders, races and family-income levels say that anxiety and depression are significant problems among their peers, according to the Pew Research Center. I never thought that this could be a common problem in Sweden as it’s in Greece.Members of Generation Z - individuals born between 19 - are growing up in an age of increased stress and anxiety. ![]() I’m not sure if this is FOMO but it’s a mobile phone addiction which affects sleeping. I’ve heard about students who go to bed extremely late as because they are scrolling through social media every single night, as you are saying, and most of them aren’t getting enough sleep and unfortunately, are not doing well with their schoolwork or can’t concentrate in the lessons. However, they all have TikTok and Instagram accounts (these are the most popular social media in my country). I’m not sure if they wake up in the middle of the night to check on their social media. Every day I see many teenagers who are addicted to their phones. Well, I live in Greece and even though I am seeing many children getting a smartphone from a very young age, I have never heard about FOMO. The world won’t end and your social media will be waiting to greet you in the morning! I give you my word that you won't have missed anything important. Be brave! Switch off your devices at night. So, I’d like to ask you to be responsible when it comes to social media.
